Why Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art, combat sport, and self defense system that focuses on grappling and especially… ground fighting. BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper technique, taking the fight to the ground – most notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. It doesn’t matter if you are an athlete, an executive, a mother or a child. The benefits of Brazilian jiu-jitsu training can be gained by all.

Wilton Sport and Fitness offers classes  taught by internationally competitive instructors, and are open to all age groups and skill levels. 

We are tailored to help you and your children build confidence, develop a positive attitude, and instill lessons that are applicable in every day life. A martial arts journey is one that requires respect, perseverance, leadership, self-discipline, and integrity. There are no shortcuts in the process, and because of the effectiveness of our training systems, we expect you will develop all of these attributes, and more!

Our Philosophy

At Wilton Sport and Fitness, we believe that the training of martial arts is a lifelong expedition and way of life. It is a journey that prepares practitioners with essential life skills and core foundations that will in turn, bring out the best in themselves. We seek to empower our students to be in full control of challenges they might encounter outside of the mats - both physically and emotionally. We encourage all our students to constantly push themselves, and to rise above all barriers.
